Role Description

We are seeking a motivated Lab Support Intern to join our biotechnology team in La Jolla, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to gain exposure to a cutting-edge lab environment. The Lab Support Intern will assist with day-to-day laboratory operations, support research activities, and contribute to the overall success of our R&D projects. This internship will provide insights into the biotechnology industry and an opportunity to work with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of scientists and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Glassware Sterilizing: Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glassware and equipment to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring lab supplies and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock levels, and assisting in ordering and restocking items as needed.
• Lab Organization: Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lab, including proper storage of chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
• Team Support: Providing general assistance to lab staff and researchers with experimental setup, preparation of growth media and chemical solutions and minor administrative tasks.

Requirements

• High School degree
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional experience preferred by not required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.

Compensation

$20 per hour, 4-8 hours a week.
